
At 2pmET, the president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame announced the two inductees that would gain entry into the Cooperstown family. These were SS/3B Cal Ripken Jr. and OF Tony Gwynn. They recieved 98.5% and 97.6% of ballots respectively, easily surpassing the 75% entry mark. In third place was Goose Gossage who recieved 71.2% followed by our Jim Rice who missed out again with 63.5% of the voting.

NEXT YEAR. He's gotta get in NEXT YEAR. Now Ifeel like a fan before the WS in '04- "Next year we'll win it". Only this case "Next, year Jim Rice will be in the HOF". He NEEDS to be in there.
