The Burins had a catastrophic defeat last night against the Maple Leafs in their second game of a home and home series. It mareked the B's return to the Garden after a 12 day road trip as well as their third straight loss and second against Toronto. The final score was a dismal 10-2 with the second and third periods becoming a shooting practice session for the Leafs. The first period wasn't too bad with the Bruins going into the intermission up 2-1, the Leafs then scored 9 consecutive goals with Matthew Stajan and Alexander Steen both getting hatricks.
By the time the Leafs had scored eight, the Bruins took a confused looking Thomas out of the net and placed Phillipe Suave in goal to let in another two goals. The goals seem to go into the net effortlessly, and another game with a below-standard Thomas. I'm starting to worry, not what I am usually expecting out of him.
Boston still have 4 games in hand over Toronto and Ottawa and 2 games over Montreal. That gives them enough room to put themselves on the other side of the playoff birth being only 3 points behind Toronto in 9th. It ain't over yet. Lets just hope Thomas gets himself together.
