The Bruins recover from their 3 game losing streak with a 4-3 win against Philadelphia due to their clean shaven looks. In a team building initiative, the Bruins decided to have a moustache growing contest which ended before last nights game after the moustaches had led to a 3 game losing streak. This game was key for Bruins' success because it puts them right back into the playoff bubble run, now only one point behind Toronto with 4 games in hand.
The game started without Bruins captain, Zdeno Chara due to injury, but the team compensated well by making the score 3-1 by the end of the 1st period. After a quick defensive mistake, the Flyers capitalised first with the ex-Whaler, Sami Kapanen, scoring. After that, the Bruins scored three unanswered goals in the 1st with Marc Savard, Glen Murray and Patrice Bergeron. In the 2nd, Kapanen scored again followed by Savard again in the 3rd. With only two minutes to go, the Flyers score another goal which was reviewed but then allowed.
So this means, the Bruins are still very much in it. Maybe if they keep shaving daily, they can post a good winning streak to compensate for that horrific 10-2 loss on Thursday. Between the Bruins in 9th place and Les Habs in 5th place there are only 5 pts as well as at least 4 games in hand over the teams in the Bruins' way; Rangers, Canes, Sens and Leafs.
