Shock, horror: Bruins beat the best team in the conference!

For the first time this season, the Bruins were able to beat a team with a better record than theirs by winning against the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in a game that went to a shootout. The Bruins looked strong throughout, they were playing with some ferocity, and enough to make it a difficult ride for the leaders of the Eastern Conference. Both team scored twice in the first period with Savard (17) and PJ Axelsson for the B's and Roy and Hecht for the Sabres. After numerous saves in the second, third and OT periods (including a highlight gem stick save by Miller), the game went into a shootout. Thomas saved all three shots by Buffalo, and Marco Sturm scored the lone and GWG for the Bruins to give them the W.

Next up are the Sabres, in Buffalo. A more difficult task, but it can be done as proven here. This was a game that could turn around the team and bring them back into contention for playoff eligability. Boston shoot back into 9th position, 4pts behind 8th place Tampa and still with that 4 game advantage over many teams in the bubble. A win in Buffalo would be really nice! Go B's.
