Yup, Manny has actually shown up to camp a whole 3 days earlier than arranged with the Red Sox. Manny's reason for showing up to camp over a week late was due to his mother's illness, but now in another twist, Manny shows some initiative and drive, and surprises us all by not maximising his offseason's length. And guess what? He's already had a workout, and one with Dice-K to say the least. Maybe this year Manny is motivated to be more of a team player too. Has he matured? That is still to be found out. According to various sources, he is in great shape and really ready to get some work done, albeit 3 days before the first Spring game. If Manny was really being Manny, he would have shown up later than his agreed time anyways. Now we have our Rightfielder, I'm ready for some ball.
All you baseball fans out there, our first glimpse of this new season is a Spring Training game between Atlanta and Pittsburgh at 6pm on NESN. Sure these teams may mean nothing to you, but if you are like me, you want to see some major league uniforms, some green grass and bats hitting balls after a long winter. Remember, the Braves were originally from Boston, root for them!
