In a close game that went to a shootout, the Bruins ended up losing their fourth game of 2007 to the New York Islanders, but still claiming one point. Jason Blake scored the winning goal for New York in the shootout, putting one past Hannu Toivonen. Although the game ended in a loss, it looked as though the 3rd period play had been greatly improved. Both Mara, and a healthy Chara scored in the third period, although both goals were countered by Poti and Kozlov to take the game into overtime and then a shootout. Sadly, Toronto managed to get a win in Buffalo putting them back on the playoff bubble at 9th and the Bruins down in 12th behind the Caps and the Islanders.
Next up for the B's is the other New York side, the stronger one, the Rangers. We also have to deal with the passionate MSG crowds. Will be a tough one, but the team really need a win against a good team, not just the Flyers :P
