Trot Nixon is said to have signed with the Indians for £3m on a one year deal. After waiting a long time to see what the Red Sox would do if JD fell through, it seems that another '04 World Series star has left the city of Boston. Nixon, along with Tim Wakefield is one of the real Dirt Dogs of Boston, sticking with the team for 10 years, REAL LOYALTY (cough Johnny). He deserves a nice big applause when he comes back to Fenway with a smiling Indian on his hat. According to the Columbus Dispatcher, Nixon is likely to play platoon or back up right field for Cleveland against RHP. Nixon's recent injuries and below-par seasons made the Red Sox keen to look for new talent in RF. Last season Trot hit only .268 with 8HR compared to his personal best of .306 and 28HR in the 2003 season. Lets hope, we can pick up JD now, otherwise we will have Wily Mo swinging mindlessly for the entire season. Anyways, respect to the man Trot Nixon. Good luck in Cleveland, we miss you already.
